Volunteer

Every year our students take part in volunteering schemes run by the University and the Students' Union. They are a great way to get to know your local community, make a difference, enhance your CV and demonstrate your skills and enthusiasm. Whatever your interests or aspirations, there's sure to be a volunteering opportunity you will enjoy. You can get involved in any of the one day challengesstudent led projects or the volunteer shop organised by NTU volunteering, and so find the right opportunity for you.

"Volunteering is such a worthwhile opportunity because it benefits all involved", said Samantha, a first year NTU student. "Most students have the time to spare and can get a lot of valuable, transferable skills."

Hundreds more NTU students also take part in a scheme called Students in Classrooms. They offer a range of unique opportunities to experience working with children in schools, colleges and University-based events. Roles include general classroom support, mentoring, ambassador work on behalf of the university and reading support in primary schools.

All opportunities are flexible, offer a fantastic chance to develop your employability skills and enhance your CV, as well as providing a regular wage for some schemes. For more information, visit the Students in classrooms web pages.
