Sports tasters

NTU Sport and Lifestyle Department are committed to providing sports and fitness opportunities, which are as accessible to our users with disabilities.

We currently provide this through our:

  • parking bays
  • ramps
  • lifts and automatic doors 
  • accessible toilets and changing rooms.

Our fitness suite is designed to suit users of all abilities and our instructors are on hand to provide help and advice.

We have a number of sports clubs that are suitable for different fitness levels and abilities. If you require any information please contact us and we will be happy to help.

The event will taking place on the first floor of the venue which will require participants climbing a set of stairs.

Southwell Pub Golf
A lot of distance is covered on pavements that are predominantly flat without steps. Attendees are transported from the Brackenhurst campus to Southwell town centre in a minibus. If wheelchair accessible transport is required, please email rebecca.

Juggling Society Circus skills workshop
Although the venue is fully accessible participants have a choice to take part in physical activity.

Ghost Walk
This is wheelchair accessible except for the final 15 minutes (down a cave). The nearest accessible toilets are Greyhound Street (7-8 minutes away). The total distance walked less than a mile.

Nottingham Climbing Centre
Expect one and a half hours of strenuous activity on the walls.

Brackenhurst campus Chaplaincy lunch
The building is wheelchair accessible and there are free parking facilities close by.

Clifton campus Freshers' Fair
The venue is fully accessible. However the venue will be crowded, have high temperatures, high levels of noise and there will be individual access requirements for fair ground rides.

Trent Bridge Tour
The venue is fully accessible. However it requires walking around the stadium. If wheelchair accessible transport is required, please email Michael

Chef's Demo
There are no issues with accessibility as wheelchair users can use the lift via main entrance or via the service doors located on North Sherwood Street.

  • Visually impaired customers will be able to follow verbal instructions and can be seated at the front.
  • Hearing impaired customers can also be seated at the front so to have a clear view of the demonstration.

Comedy at the Canalhouse
The Canalhouse is fully accessible.

Brackenhurst campus Freshers' Fair
The venue is fully accessible. However, the venue will be crowded, have high temperatures and high levels of noise. Participants have a choice to take part in physical activity.

Galleries of Justice
The Museum consists of five floors with lift access on the first and second floor and from the exercise yard outside. Due to the nature of the building, there will be some areas that may not be suitable for all. Participants will have make their way to the venue approximately one mile.

The event will taking place on the first floor of the venue which will require participants climbing a set of stairs.

Christian Union Quasar
This will be split into three floors all with ramp access. The venue has 5,000 square foot of semi-dark playing space with swirling smoke, music and flashing lights. The nature of this activity is physical and participants will have make their way to the venue approximately one mile.

Castle and Caves
The tour is strenuous as it includes 300 steep steps. It's unsuitable for wheelchair users, or anyone with mobility issues.

City Cycle Tour
Expect up to two hours of gentle cycling.

Hallé Orchestra
Infra-red headsets are available. Lifts, level access and ramps throughout. Wheelchair spaces available in the stalls.

Nottingham Contemporary
All galleries and facilities fully accessible. Nottingham Contemporary is a straightforward ten-minute walk from the meeting place.

Tenpin Bowling
This venue has wheelchair accessible facilities and bowling lanes.

West Midlands Safari Park

Cresswell Crags and Sherwood Forest
Creswell Crags museum and gorge are fully accessible, with adapted toilets. The cave part of the tour is not suitable for wheelchairs. The museum has induction loops.

Sherwood Forest visitor centre also has good access. The path to the Major Oak is well-surfaced and mostly level.

Warner Bros, Harry Potter Studio Tour London

Business Society Kick About

Go Ape!
Expect to climb for between 1.5 and 3 hours up to 10 metres off the ground. This is reasonably physically demanding.

Paintballing
This is an energetic outdoor activity located in woodland.

Peak District Walk
The terrain will be undemanding, but is not suitable for wheelchair users.
