What's on?
Friday 21 – Sunday 30 September
The Welcome Week events guide
will be posted out to students on the second week of September, but here's a flavour of what to expect.
First weekend (Friday 21 – Sunday 23)
Both Friday and Saturday are busy as students are dropped off around their halls and new accommodation. These are also good days to:
- complete your enrolment
- collect your student card
- pick up your Freshers' Wristband.
There are briefings for parents and carers in which:
- we explain the support available to new students
- the Students' Union delivers the first amazing parties all over the city.
On Sunday we have our Sunday Social events. These provide a relaxed opportunity for you to:
- try out some new activities
- meet your fellow students
- start getting your Saturday Antics teams together.
Throughout the week (Monday 24 – Friday 28)
On Monday, the Vice Chancellor will formally welcome all students to the University. His Welcome will be held in the Royal Concert Hall, which is where you will be graduating. Throughout the week make sure you attend the Freshers' Fair on your campus, sample some of the nightlife and, most important of all, attend your course induction. We run a huge range of activities, so there are bound to be activities that will appeal to you!
Final weekend (Saturday 29 and Sunday 30)
All week we've been building up to the Saturday Antics Competition. Twenty-eight teams will take part in almost twenty competitions from the sack race to five-a-side on the Clifton campus. It's not quite the Olympics, but it will be fantastic fun. The week ends with a whole series of trips from the Peak District to Alton Towers.
Welcome Week is a fantastic opportunity for you to:
- try out new activities
- start to make friends
- really begin to feel that you belong here at NTU.
