What's on?
Friday 23 September – Sunday 2 October
The opening weekend
The week traditionally starts on the Friday, when most freshers can start moving into the halls of residence. Check with the hall or your private landlord to see what date you can move in from.
There are various events taking place over the first weekend to help everyone settle in and we'll also have the Fresher reps around to give you a hand and make you a cup of tea.
The week
The week really kicks off on the Monday with the essential Welcome to NTU meetings and the first big Students' Union party - not to be missed!
Over the week there are parties, gigs, trips around Nottingham and beyond, sports trials, taster sessions and information and advice. We've got events were you can pick up your freshers t-shirt and wristband, complete your enrolment and get your essential Smartcard.
All the events are detailed in your Welcome Week events guide that is sent out in early September. So make sure your address and email is correct on UCAS or with NTU, or you might miss your guide.
It will also be available to download here, with plenty of copies around campus when you arrive. During the summer we'll keep you updated on what events and parties are being planned, so you can look forward to the best week of your University life!
Tickets
For most events, all you need to do is turn up. For others, you'll need a ticket. Tickets go on sale across the three campuses from Monday 26 September.
International students
Welcome Week is for all our new students and that includes international students – whether you're here for a semester or three years. There are also special events specifically for you, including an airport pick up, welcome points, BBQ and advice sessions.
Postgraduate and mature students
If you're over 21, or starting a postgraduate course, you might feel a bit worried about fitting in. But you don't have to be, Welcome Week is here for you too. There are special welcome points, advice sessions and lots of cultural and daytime events as well as parties and nights out. So you will always be able to find events to suit you and meet like-minded students.
