Dyslexia support

The Dyslexia Support Team provides advice and support to students with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), to help them achieve their full learning potential at NTU.

We provide advice on:

  • Getting the right diagnostic evidence to ensure appropriate support.
  • How to arrange Dyslexia Screenings and Educational Psychologist's Assessment reports.
  • Any specialist support needs regarding technology and one-to-one support.
  • How to arrange reasonable adjustments (for example, extra time in exams).
  • How to arrange funding for your support through Disabled Students' Allowances (DSAs).

We provide support with:

  • writing assignments, essays and dissertations
  • your time management and organisation
  • skills development
  • preparing presentations
  • essay structuring techniques
  • exam preparation.

Our team of specialists also offer one-to-one to students who know they are dyslexic, and drop in support to students who think they are dyslexic. The Dyslexia Support Team drop in runs weekly during term time:

  • Mondays 1.30 - 2.30 pm Consulting Room 1, Bramley Building (Brackenhurst)
