How do I apply?

You do not have to apply for a bursary separately. You simply need to reapply for your student finance. Your bursary entitlement cannot be checked if you and your sponsors have not given consent to share information with the University on your student finance application. If consent to share has not been given, you and / or your sponsors will need to ring the Bursaries Helpline on + 44 (0)845 603 4016 and give your consent over the telephone.

How will I know if I'm eligible?

You will be sent a letter from the University if you are eligible once the University has had confirmation from your national Student Finance Service of your grants and loans for the year in question. Your financial assessment must be completed before NTU can consider your eligibility.

You should receive your letter between September and November.  Contact us on +44 (0)115 848 2494 or email us if you think you meet the bursary eligibility criteria, but have not received the letter by November.

When will I receive my bursary?

You will receive your bursary in two equal instalments.

  • 20 February 2013
  • 15 May 2013

If your bursary is not approved until after the middle of February, you can expect the first instalment to be paid approximately 10 working days after you receive the confirmation letter and the second instalment in May. However, if the bursary is not approved until after the start of May, the full year's bursary will be paid approximately 10 working days after you receive the confirmation letter.
