Social work bursaries
You may be able to get a non-repayable bursary through the NHS Business Service Authority's Prescription Pricing Division if you are studying for a career in Social Work. These bursaries are available to eligible students who:
- do not get funding from their employer
- are studying an approved undergraduate or postgraduate course in social work.
You'll need to submit a separate application for each year of your course to get a social work bursary. The application process is different depending on which type of course you are doing.
Are you a full-time undergraduate?
You will need to apply to Student Finance England first. You must apply this way even if you do not wish to take out a student loan. They will assess whether you meet the relevant eligibility criteria. You will also need to send a separate bursary application form to the NHS Business Services Authority.
Are you a part-time undergraduate?
You can choose whether you wish to apply through Student Finance England or just to the NHS Business Services Authority.
Are you a postgraduate?
You need to apply to the NHS Business Services Authority only.
