Application support

The International Student Support Service offers advice and guidance to students applying for Tier 4 visa extensions from inside the UK.

Tier 4 information sessions

We offer regular Tier 4 information sessions run by trained advisers which aim to:

  • provide guidance on completing the application form
  • explain which documents you will need to provide
  • answer any questions you may have.

You are advised to attend an information session two months before your current student visa is due to expire. This should give you sufficient time to ensure that you can meet the requirements and also to prepare your documents.

For a list of the sessions, and to book a place online, please visit our online booking form.

Application checking service

We offer an Application Checking Service, whereby trained advisers will review your application form and documents and check that they meet the UKBA requirements. This service is available to both postal applicants and students who choose to apply in-person at a PEO.

Student Batch Scheme

If you are applying by post, the International Support Service can do both of the following:

  • Send your application to the UKBA on your behalf.
  • Act as a point of contact and correspondence address for any communications from the Home Office regarding your application.

Our guidance note on making your Student Visa application PDF icon contains more information on our Application Checking Service and the Student Batch Scheme.
