Police registration

Certain international students are required to register with the police within seven days of arrival in the UK as a condition of their visa. This is likely to apply to you if you are on a course of longer than six months duration and are a national of one of the following countries:

Afghanistan
Algeria
Argentina
Armenia
Azerbaijan
Bahrain
Belarus
Bolivia
Brazil
China

Students who fall into this category must, in addition to registering with the police upon arrival in the UK, inform the police if any of their personal details change. This includes updating them of any changes of your address in Nottingham, and every time you get a new visa or passport.

More information about Police registration, including advice on how and where to register, can be found in our guidance note Registering with the Police PDF icon .
