we have put together to help you stay on top of your studies, in control, relaxed, happy and healthy.
Our Take Five stress-busting tips
1. Take control
Make a plan of what you need to study, how you need to study it and when. Prioritise the most important topics and estimate how long you will need to cover each one. Take advantage of the revision and study workshops your Library and Learning Resources team have arranged for you. Also download our guidance notes on combating exam stress.
2. Take a break and relax
Have some fun and don't study twenty-four hours a day. Taking a break will ensure that you have the energy to make the best of your study time. We have arranged social events for you to do this and you can download our Podcasts to help you relax.
3. Take some exercise and eat healthily to combat stress
Exercise is an excellent way to take a break, release endorphins (which are your body's happy chemicals), recharge and relax mentally. See our staying healthy pages to ensure that you keep fit, healthy, fuelled and ready for your studies. Also take a look at the NU2Sport timetable of activities you can get involved in.
4. Take time to talk
Let your friends and the people who care about you give you support. Anxiety can become overwhelming when you keep it to yourself. If you are feeling worried or unhappy, ensure that you talk to your friends and read our advice. If you are worried about someone else, make sure that you get the help you need to support them.
5. Take credit for the hard work you're doing, be proud and don't forget about all the great things you have going on.
