Academic experience

Some classes are very spread out through the day and some classes are late in the evening. We need a more convenient timetable.

We have dramatically reduced the amount of teaching that takes place after 6 pm. We also reviewed our teaching spaces so students should now have the majority of their seminars and workshops in a consistent building with less need to rush across campus between classes.

It would be really useful if lecturers could provide faster feedback on our work.

Tutors are now committed to returning feedback to students within three weeks of work being submitted. (Feedback on final year dissertations may take longer.)

Can we have more contact time with our lecturers?

NTU has committed to a university-wide tutorial system for all undergraduate students. It will be phased in over the next two years, with tutorials for first and second year students starting from 2012 / 13, and tutorials for third years to be introduced in 2013 / 14.
Other improvements
- A new system called EvaSys has been introduced to gather feedback from students about their modules and courses.
This will:- help inform NTU of any changes that need to be made
- help us to identify good practice
- recognise any areas for improvement.
If you have any comments or suggestions for improvements we could make, email the student comms team.
