We want more access to academic staff in Newton.
We did
All NBS staff have a dedicated, weekly office hour. We have also developed a new student / staff space called the NBS Link Lounge. Located on the seventh floor of the Newton building, the space provides:
  • a relaxing place for you to meet with staff
  • phones for you to call academics
  • support staff and the NBS Information Desk for any queries or support requests.

Can we have our own space in Newton building?
We did
We want you to feel a part of Nottingham Business School and create a community where students from all levels and staff engage. The NBS Link Lounge gives you your own unique space in the home of Nottingham Business School, the Newton building.

We need access to more business resources.
We did
As a business student you need to be up to date with what is happening in the world of business at all times. The School now offers all NBS students free access to the Financial Times website, a package worth £300 per student.
You said
Can we have more support with employability?
We did
A final year module 'Leadership and Employability' has been introduced into all Business School undergraduate degrees, as well as a programme of employability events.
You said
We want opportunities to get involved in more activities outside our course.
We did
We are providing the opportunity for over 250 undergraduate students to get involved in volunteering projects such as Ecoworks, as well as national and international team competitions such as the IBM University Business Challenge and the Hong Kong Poly U Global Business Challenge.

Other improvements

  • All students have a personal tutor and timetabled sessions with their personal tutorial group. In Year One, students have 12 timetabled sessions with their personal tutor throughout the year. Second and final year students have five timetabled personal tutorial sessions each year.
  • We have introduced course enhancement boards which bring together students, staff and key stakeholders, including representatives from industry. These help develop our courses to ensure they are meeting the needs of students and their future employers.

If you have any comments or suggestions for improvements we could make, email the student comms team.
