Guidance for colleagues who are new to teaching at NTU. This page provides all the resources you need to help you get started with learning and teaching in 2020/21.
How to log onto NOW
Nottingham Trent University Online Workspace (NOW) is the primary portal for online learning. To log onto NOW go to MyNTU and click on the NOW tile on the front page. Enter your NTU username and password and this will take you to the NOW homepage.
NTU’s Organisational Development Team offer an induction to NOW. Sessions can be accessed directly from the Organisational Development WFH Help Team.

How to use Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is part of Office 365 and will be used for delivery of online synchronous teaching sessions in the 2020/21 academic year.
You can find a range of Office 365 training videos, including how to schedule and join a Teams meeting, in the My Employment section of MyHub.

How to record videos?
You may need to record videos for online module content. NTU’s online learning principles provide principles about the use of pre-recorded video which you should read prior to developing any materials.
All NTU created videos, no matter how they are created, must be uploaded to Panopto. Guidance is available on on the use of Panopto.
How to engage with the flexible module development process
All modules being delivered in 2020/21 need to go through the flexible module development process. Before you engage in this process you should:
- Discuss the approach to blended learning for your module with the Course Leader
- Watch this video which covers the University’s approach to learning and teaching in 2020/21.
