Curated & Created has lots of opportunities for students, staff and the local community.
Whether you’re an absolute beginner or an expert musician, our extra-curricular department offers lots of opportunities for students, staff and local community to make music and perform. From ensembles and practice facilities to music tuition and scholarships, find out how you could get involved.
Visit the NTU Music web pages for more information.
WRAP – Writing, Reading and Pleasure
In partnership with our friends at Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature, we invite NTU students to take part in online writing workshops and book groups, meet ups, masterclasses and talks from readers and authors. If there’s an opportunity to celebrate words and voices, WRAP will be part of it.
Why get involved?
You'll get to meet new people across the University, explore books and writing, or perhaps experiment with your own writing. Co-produced with student ambassadors, WRAP is about loving words, listening to new voices, reading for pleasure and having the freedom and confidence to speak out. Everyone is welcome to read and write along.

Clubs and societies
Students are spoilt for choice with opportunities to get creative at Nottingham Trent Students’ Union (NTSU). Whether you love to dance, act, sing or create, there’s a whole range of different societies to join during your time at NTU. NTSU also hosts a number of cultural events, including live, music, dance, comedy and film screenings.
Visit the NTSU website for more information.
Work and volunteering
Curated & Created not only delivers activities and events for enjoyment, but also provides opportunities to help NTU students develop their skills and gain valuable experience. From work placements to volunteering and part-time jobs on campus, there’s lots on offer.
Fancy spending your spare time doing something to benefit a good cause? We offer a diverse range of creative and cultural volunteering roles for students, no matter what subject you’re studying. With links to a variety of organisations there’s lots of opportunities for you to give something back. Visit the NTU’s Volunteering web pages to find out more.
If you see yourself writing an article for our annual magazine, taking photos at one of NTU Music’s concerts, or joining the University Hall front of house team, then make sure you register for part-time work with Unitemps. We have paid opportunities for students throughout the year – everything from event support to office administration, marketing, photography, writing and more.
Promoting your events
Are you an NTU student or staff member organising a creative or cultural event? You might be part of a society putting on a play or hosting a dance performance – and if so, don’t forget to let us know. We can help you to promote your activities through the Curated & Created website and social media channels. Send us an email with the details, and we’ll be in touch.
Making your ideas reality
Are you an NTU student with an idea for something creative or cultural you’d like to make happen? Perhaps you aren’t sure how to get it off the ground, or need some help? Why not tell us about it – it might fit into Curated & Created’s programme, or we might know some creative people in the city who could help you. Send us an email with your idea, and we’ll be in touch.
