The BUCS Awards 2014 will take place at BUCS Conference on Thursday 10 July, hosted by BUCS President and television broadcaster, John Inverdale and accompanied by Welsh international Rugby Union referee, Nigel Owens (confirmed as the after dinner speaker).

The shortlist of the annual BUCS Awards Dinner has been announced for 2014 with the country's most dedicated student athletes and volunteers being recognised for their outstanding contribution to student sport this year.

These prestigious awards include Sportsman of the Year; Sportswoman of the Year; Team of the Year; Club of the Year and Student Volunteer of the Year. All students nominated have stood out for their efforts across the spectrum of sport.

NTU Student Volunteer Maria Goodwin is among those short-listed, and NTU have high hopes for her winning the Student Volunteer of the Year award.
