Fierce women tearing around the flat track playing one of the most exciting and progressive full-contact sports there is: yes, it's roller derby.
Roller Derby is the fastest growing sport in the UK – and definitely one of the most fun! It's a high octane, full contact sport played on an oval flat track by women on roller skates.
Roller Derby is played by two teams of 14 skaters. A competitive game lasts for one hour and is called a 'bout' – a bout is made up of two minute jams, and played over two x 30 minute halves.
A brief 15 minutes of game play in July saw Hellfire Harlots B Team give a stellar performance against the Sheffield Steel Rollers Crucibelles but a leaky roof put an end to the match. Both teams are made of meaner stuff and have been chomping at the bit to finish business!
So come down to Lee Westwood Sports Centre, Clifton campus to see both teams battle it out to the end.
Tickets cost just £3 if bought in advance or £4 on the day!
