An introduction to materials
A drop-in exhibition of approximately 125 materials and material products. Specially curated by The Materials Council, this will span architecture, design, textiles and specialist applications. Each sample will be labelled with a description and an outline of their key applications and characteristics.

A drop-in exhibition of approximately 125 materials and material products specially curated by The Materials Council.
The exhibition will be of interest to designers and practitioners who use and want to explore materials and the properties of materials. Commonly used and less familiar materials will be included in the exhibit that will spanning architecture, design, and textiles, and will include specialist applications made possible by material developments.
All will be presented as physical samples to handle and include labels with a brief description and an outline of their key applications and characteristics.
If you are curious about design, and the properties of materials in our built and made environment this exhibit will intrigue and inspire.
Materials on display will include a variety of metals, woods, laminates, plastics, stones, ceramics, concretes, glasses, composites, fibres and others.
NTU is committed to helping business growth in the region and this workshop is being delivered through NTU's working with you... programme, which is part funded by the ERDF.
This is a drop-in exhibition, there is no need to book. The exhibition is free of charge and open to all.
The exhibition is open Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm (closed Saturday and Sunday).
