Design Management and Innovation
An introduction to the role of design management as an interface between design and industry and the terminology of innovation and its application in a design and industry context. This event will be delivered by Chris Ebbert, Senior Lecturer in Product Design, Nottingham Trent University.

This informative lecture is aimed at small and medium businesses in the East Midlands. It will consider both Design Management and Innovation.
Design Management This is an introduction to the role of design management as an interface between design and industry, including:
- how to liaise with designers
- strategy and planning
- project management approaches
- supply chain
- brief details on intellectual property types.
An introduction to the terminology of innovation and its application in a design and industry context. Including;
- innovation management
- types of innovation
- assessing market needs.
The lecture will be delivered by Chris Ebbert, Senior Lecturer in Product Design, Nottingham Trent University.
Chris' pre-academic background is in the transportation and industrial design scenes of Germany, the US, Canada, France, and India. Chris is the former dean of French MOU-based, international university cooperation in China and India. Chris has also worked with Hymer, one of the largest manufacturers of motor-homes and caravans in Europe.

Registration is at 3.30 pm and the lecture will begin at 4 pm.
The event will be followed by a 30 minute networking session over refreshments.
