If you are unfamiliar with the term, the Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a dramatic development in the Internet's function. It can, very broadly, be described as the network of everyday objects (or 'things') embedded with Internet connectivity. This could be anything from a fridge connecting to a supermarket to let them know you are low on milk, to a pacemaker sending a report to your doctor.
The IoT is increasing at an almost unimaginable scale with some estimating that it will consist of almost 50 billion objects by 2020.
This event will give an insight into what the IoT is, where it is going and how you can use it to improve your business. No matter what industry you work in, the IoT will impact your business, so come and listen to our industry experts and find out how it is changing the game.
Speakers will include academics from Nottingham Trent University, among them Professor Amin Al-Habaibeh who will discuss Intelligent Cities.
Saverio Romeo from Beecham Research will also provide a market overview of the current state of the IoT, and consider the future.
Case studies will showcase work being undertaken at NTU and by others.
