The consumer at the centre of ECCO
ECCO has a unique business model, it controls every aspect of the business. ECCO designers develop the collections, ECCO owned tanneries produce the leather and ECCO owned factories make the shoes sold in ECCO shops across the world and at the world's leading retailers.
This lecture will discuss the value chain from Raw Hide to High Street; consider customer segmentation to deliver the right shoes for the right consumers; and the overarching strategy behind the business. This lecture will explain how ECCO bring consumers to the centre as the company develops its strategy for 2020.
Torben Nørgaard is Head of Brand and Products, Strategy and Business Support at ECCO. Prior to this, he spent three years executing strategic projects across ECCO and is working with the Management Board developing the 2020 strategy.
Torben spent ten years working for Lego as Director, Global Controlling and later Director, Profitability / Performance Management, driving some of the key projects in Lego's turnaround. Previously, he also worked as a Management Consultant for Valcon, one of the largest consultancy companies in Denmark, working across finance, operations, and business development matters for companies across many industries in Denmark and Scandinavia.
