This event is part of the School of Social Sciences' ACE week, aimed predominantly at School of Social Sciences undergraduate students.

However, this particular event reaches out to a wide audience, and thus students from across the university are welcome, together with members of the public.

Can we achieve the climate change targets agreed in Paris (COP21) in December 2015?

This will be a panel question time and debate with invited guests offering political, NGO, and academic perspectives. Guests and the audience will be invited to respond to the challenge of climate change.

Views and questions may include:

  • a view from the governing UK political party
  • concerns from non-governmental organisations
  • what students can do about climate change
  • a business perspective on climate change
  • issues of climate justice.

What you need to check before attending the event

  • Are you studying on BA (Hons) Social Work? You will still have scheduled teaching and seminars, or you will be on placement. You are very welcome to attend our ACE Week events that do not clash with your scheduled teaching.
