The What Works? Student Retention and Success report identified that belonging was the most important factor for preventing early withdrawal from university. Particularly important was the relationship between the student and a personal tutor.

In this session we will:

  • explore some of the literature on personal and academic tutoring
  • share examples from other institutions
  • explore approaches to effective tutoring
  • test ideas about how we might use the NTU Student Dashboard to improve the tutoring process.

This session is presented by Ed Foster, Student Engagement Manager, CADQ.

Programme

Starting at 2 pm, this two-hour session session will use a combination of presentation and discussion to explore the themes associated with good tutoring.
