Event details

In the US, interest in the first year experience grew from the development of university 101 courses in the early 1970s. This work includes research into the experience of student transition into and beyond the first year. The European First Year Experience Network is now in its eleventh year.

This session, presented by Ed Foster, Student Engagement Manager, CADQ, will provide colleagues with an opportunity to take time to

  • consider their own approaches to delivering the first year
  • reflect on some of the themes identified by North American and European researchers.

Programme

This two-hour session, starting at 2 pm, will use a combination of presentations and discussions to explore the themes associated with the first year experience.
