The European Business Ethics Network (EBEN) Annual Conference
This conference will investigate the development of responsible and sustainable business practice: habits, mindsets, and business models.
- From: Monday 20 June 2016, 12 am
- To: Wednesday 22 June 2016, 12 am
- Location: Newton building, Nottingham Conference Centre, Nottingham Trent University, City Campus, Burton Street, Nottingham, NG1 4BU
The European Business Ethics Network (EBEN) is an international network of academics and practitioners that promotes ethical business practice and increases awareness about ethical challenges in the global marketplace. The next EBEN Annual Conference is preceded by an early career workshop for emerging scholars, which is being co-hosted with The University of Nottingham Business School on Sunday 19 June 2016. Full papers will also be considered for publication in the conference's special issue of the Journal of Business Ethics.
EBEN's annual conferences have a long tradition of creating opportunities for academics and practitioners to network, share their experiences, and learn from each other. Their mission is to promote ethics and excellence in business, to increase awareness about ethical challenges in the global marketplace, and to enable dialogue on the role of business in society.
The Development of Responsible and Sustainable Business Practice: Habits, Mindsets and Business models
Our conversations will be focused around two interrelated sub-themes, convened by two separate teams of conveners.
- Sub-theme one: Changing habits, rethinking business models
- Sub-theme two: Pedagogy beyond the business school

Third UK and Ireland PRME Regional Chapter Conference
The third PRME UK and Ireland Conference – titled Collaboration and Capacity Building in Responsible Management Education – will be held on 20 to 22 June 2016, and hosted jointly by Nottingham Business School and Nottingham University Business School.
The conference will be held at the Nottingham Conference Centre in the heart of the city. This year's PRME conference is run in parallel with the annual European Business Ethics Network, and gives a great opportunity for businesses and academics from across the world to interact.
The theme for PRME delegates is collaboration and capacity-building in responsible management education. The theme of this conference aims to stimulate discussion on questions such as:
- what are the capabilities and relationships that higher education institutions need to enhance in light of SDGs?
- how can we better create meaningful collaborations that engage multiple stakeholders and institutions?
- how can we move forward powerfully together in service of the PRME principles?
The conference programme is now available to view.
Conference Social Events
We are pleased to inform you that we have organised two social events for Tuesday 21 June, 2016.
The first event is a 30-minute tour of the city that will be led by Nottingham's official outlaw, Robin Hood himself! The conference day ends at 5 pm on Tuesday 21 June. Starting at 5.30 pm, meeting in front of the University's Conference Centre, the walking tour will include an overview of Nottingham's industrial history and the role of garment workers in the historic Lace Market.
The tour will end at Broadway Cinema in time for the second event – a screening of The True Cost, a documentary film about the social and environmental impact of the multibillion-dollar fashion industry.
These events are free to attend. If you would like to register for these events, please contact Jinu Gomez.
