This event will explore the changing business landscape the advent of digital and cloud computing has created. The focus will be on the opportunities and challenges this raises for all businesses. This event will explore the changing business landscape the advent of digital and cloud computing has created, and the resulting opportunities and challenges this raises for business. 

The session aims to give an overview of these opportunities, as well as sparking some thinking and discussion on how these can be exploited to grow your business.

Practical industry experience comes from Ste Nadin from Fujitsu. Ste will discuss Fujitsu's customers, research and market trends, as well as giving an overview of what digital and cloud computing means. He will also look at how companies have already used digital to both delight their customers and achieve rapid growth.

The seminar will explore some of the components and buzz words of the moment, and the opportunities they can bring for your business, including:

  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Big Data and Analytics
  • Cloud computing
  • DevOps
  • What digital means for the culture of your business.

Guest speaker

We are delighted to welcome guest speaker Ste Nadin (@SteNadinFJ) to this event.

Ste designs and delivers enterprise class solutions for some of the largest UK government departments and private business. As Chief Architect for Fujitsu Digital EMEIA he drives strategy on how digital solutions can empower businesses. He works with customers from employees on the shop floor to executive level to drive digital business solutions and the adoption of Hybrid IT.

Ste has two passions within the business. The first is empowering business to deliver more efficient solutions. He achieves this by focussing on designing and building these solutions with the end user in mind - whether customer or employee. The second is helping develop talent within the industry. He is involved in both sharing knowledge across the industry as a member of the BCS and helping develop graduate programmes to ensure that people enter the workforce with the right skills.

In addition, Ste is an exec board member of SEMAT inc. This is a non-profit organisation containing leading software academic and industry figures looking to drive software engineering processes based on a solid theory, proven principles and best practices.

Fujitsu is one of the leading global technology firms employing approx. 146,000 people across over 100 countries with 12,000 employees in the UK.

Enabling Innovation is a three-year collaboration between Nottingham Trent University, The University of Nottingham and the University of Derby to support SMEs in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to innovate. It is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
