The Enabling Innovation Team are pleased to invite you to this fully funded event, which is open to SMEs and sole traders based in the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (D2N2) area.

This workshop will be delivered by Dana Church who has 25 years industry experience in design and manufacturing respectively, integrating 2D and 3D Design disciplines with disruptive digital technologies into the production process.

The event is meant as a taster to introduce these standard and emerging technologies to learn about their potential and also the limitations within typical SME budget capabilities.

123D Design for Beginner level users:

123D Design is a powerful, yet simple 3D creation and editing tool which supports many new 3D printers.

An introductory workshop that will let delegates explore entry level, FREE 3D software. This will include in introduction to working in and navigating a virtual 3D space, fundamental vocabulary for 3D design, working with primitives, 2D sketching, transforming objects, generating 3d objects from 2D spline curves, object assemblies and alignments, merging objects, patterns and grouping, measuring, materials, importing 3D models and exporting 3D models for 3D Printing.

  • Learn how to transform 2D drawings into 3D models.
  • Export 3D models for 3D printing.
