Do you want to boost your CV, develop your communication, team working, and leadership skills and be a part of the innovative sustainability work happening at NTU? #BeTheChange

Are you a driven person who wants to play a proactive role in making the world a better place? If you answered 'yes', then the Green Academy wants you! The Green Academy at NTU works within the field of 'Education for Sustainable Development' (ESD) to engage students with sustainability through the curriculum and extracurricular activities.

NTU is dedicated to working towards achieving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which are part of the new Agenda 2030 aiming to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all.

This opportunity is (ideally) aimed at students who have previously completed the Sustainability in Practice (SiP) Certificate, but you could also decide to do the SiP now and then apply for the role after submitting your final work to the SiP Dropbox.

Nominated for a Green Gown Award in 2014, this flexible, four-week online course explores three specific topics: energy, food, or clothing, and its challenges for the future in relation to your subject of study. Students have the chance to share their own thoughts on sustainability in their subject area and to engage with others, all without having to attend any lectures or seminars, unless they decide to participate in the SiP Challenge Day.

From 2016/17, the SiP Certificate is now part of the NTU's Higher Education Achievement Record (HEAR), a nationwide UK universities initiative. This means that this certificate of achievement will also be included in your official NTU transcript.

As a SiP tutor you will be helping to run the SiP Certificate by facilitating discussions on the SiP NOW forums as a part of the online module. You will also have the chance to complete the certificate in one day.

Volunteering with the Green Academy is a flexible experience and you will have the opportunity to shape your involvement and even spark new change making ideas. For more information or to apply simply email Green Academy.
