The third of a three-part series of "Finders Keepers" breakfast events. These three events will focus on the themes of Attract, Select and Keep, providing an insight into enticing the best talent to your organisation.

The content for ‘Keep’ will be delivered by Simon Gray, Founder of Career Codex and Chief Executive of Nottingham Means Business, and will explore innovation and best practice in recruitment, looking at how to select the right talent to innovate in your business, and what support is available from the University / NTU to do so.

Content will include:

  • an evaluation of lessons learnt from the previous months workshop
  • a selection seminar by Simon Gray
  • guest speaker Stuart Ross, CEO of High Growth with lessons from high-growth companies on staff retention
  • group work led by Simon gray for attendees to take away and action
  • Alex Alcock, Operations Director at Macildowie, with practical advice for retaining your best people
  • an opportunity to learn more about Talent of Innovation's Innovation Community Lab (ICL) Programme.

This event is free to attend, but attendees must register in advance. In order to attend this event you must be eligible for support from the Enabling Innovation Programme, which supports SMEs in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

Finding and developing creative talent to generate innovative solutions and products is fundamental to sustainable business growth. Our Innovation Community Lab (ICL) programme delivers support to businesses to retain, develop, and enhance a workforce of talent required to enable innovation.

Enabling Innovation is a three-year collaboration between Nottingham Trent University, The University of Nottingham, and the University of Derby to support SMEs in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to innovate. It is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Programme

  • 7.30 am: Arrival.
  • 8 am: Introduction to Innovation Community Lab programme.
  • 8.20 am: 'Keep' seminar begins led by Simon Gray, Founder of Career Codex and Chief Executive of Nottingham Means Business, including a talk from Stuart Ross, CEO of High Growth.
  • 9.15 am: Break.
  • 9.30 am: Workshop and group work led by Simon Gray, including a talk from Alex Alcock, Operations Director at Macildowie with practical advice for retaining your best people.
