Event details

Nottingham Trent University's The Hive, invite local small and medium organisations from the D2N2 area (Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire) to get involved with the new Enabling Innovation programme.

Led by Carroll Macey ( Mindclouds) and Catherine Midgley (The Positive Approach)
Why Attend:
* Find out what a mindful approach to working life looks like
* Learn about links between mindfulness and improved wellbeing, focus, resilience and empathy at work
* Experience mindfulness taster sessions and techniques that you can use immediately

The techniques in this book can help you to improve your wellbeing, relationships and overall performance through:
· Improving your focus
· Handling your emotions with greater ease
· Bringing more clarity to your decision making
· Interacting with colleagues more effectively
· Enhancing your communication style
· Bringing greater awareness and attention to meetings/emails/presentations etc
· Leading and managing with a clearer intention and purpose

In this talk Carroll and Catherine will share some of the ideas from their book. Organisations integrating Mindfulness into their training are realising tangible outcomes e.g. productivity increasing by 10%, sick leave reducing by 15%, reduced attrition by 40%. And more...
Catherine and Carroll have written a book “The Mindful Approach to Working Life.”. The purpose of the book is to offer busy managers/workers a new perspective on their working day. The book offers practical suggestions of how to engage more fully during the day, improving the quality of thinking, decisions and interactions. It enables managers to practically apply mindfulness techniques to their day at work. The book has individual chapters, which focus on a different aspect of the working day, for example ‘Meetings’ or ‘Networking’ or ‘Emailing’. The chapters are short, easy to read and designed as a quick, ‘best practice’ guide to be consulted as and when required.
Carroll Macey ( Mindclouds) and Catherine Midgley (The Positive Approach)have many years of work experience within organisations and working as consultants and coaches to organisations, public and private, large and small. They are acutely aware of the demands of the contemporary workplace and their clients have experienced the benefits of bringing mindfulness into their daily work.
