Event details

Join the NTU Press Office and Jo Adetunji, deputy editor of The Conversation, for an introduction to how the website works and the benefits to be gained from engaging with the public through the media.

This workshop is open to NTU staff and booking is required.  This event is ideal for early career researchers and academics who have not yet written for The Conversation.

From comment pieces, to explainers and ‘listicles’, find out how you can reach thousands of readers and raise the profile of your research via The Conversation.

The Conversation is a news and views website dedicated to the thoughts and expertise of academics, guided by experienced editors and aimed at the general public.

Since its launch in 2012, 133 NTU authors have so far written more than 280 articles for the site, attracting a global readership in excess of 9.3 million.

Deputy editor and former Guardian Professional Networks journalist, Jo Adetunji, will introduce the site and explain the process for pitching, writing and publishing articles. Jo will also demonstrate The Conversation’s author dashboard and the metrics which are available to track engagement.

Two NTU authors whose articles have reached more than one million readers will also share their experiences of writing for The Conversation.
