Event details

We invite local small and medium organisations from the D2N2 area (Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire) to get involved with the new Enabling Innovation programme.

NTU Academic Zara Whysall will present an informative session to local SMEs exploring how to effectively lead and manage staff within your business. As a small business it can prove difficult to find the right employees and it is important to find individuals that will be able to talk about and sell your business as passionately as you do! This workshop will aim to help you recognise strengths and blind spots within yourself and others, teach you how to build trust and build good working relationships, lead for long term results and understand the motivations of colleagues and competitors.

We will discuss best practices of managing teams, the varying roles of a manager and the nature of influence on your employees. We will help you to evolve your own leadership style that reflects the goals of your business.

Zara is an academic, consultant, and Chartered Psychologist who specialises in translating academic research into practical insights for managers and employers, helping address HR/L&D challenges such as talent management, leadership development, and high performing teams.

This event will take place in Nottingham at a City Centre location in the Chaucer Buidling (CHR1602) Refreshments and nibbles will be provided 9am-12pm

This event is free to attend, but attendees must register in advance. In order to attend this event you must be eligible for support from the Enabling Innovation Programme, which supports SMEs in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
