Event details

This exhibition is about the life and work of three extraordinary men, from ordinary backgrounds, whose lives embrace three centuries.

Although from different religious and cultural traditions, they share the belief that violence and war ultimately solve nothing, and that through the process of inner transformation, an individual has the power to change society, the environment, and the planet itself.

Featuring colourful photographs, inspiring quotes and factual information about Mohandas K. Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., and Daisaku Ikeda, visitors are invited take in the wondrous lives of these three individuals. The exhibition provides visitors the chance to explore the significance of true dialogue with an opportunity to listen, meet and share thoughts with others in a Conversation Café.

NTU is delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Mohammed Saghir to the exhibition on Wednesday 3 May at 11 am.

The exhibition is hosted by SGI-UK, the UK branch of Soka Gakkai International. SGI is a worldwide network of lay Buddhists dedicated to a common vision of a better world through the empowerment of the individual and the promotion of peace, culture and education.

The exhibition is the core event of Peacebuilders, a programme of events and activities in and around Nottingham from 22 April to 21 May 2017.

Peacebuilders is supported by Arts Council England and Nottingham City Council Arts. Visits the Peacebuilders facebook page for more details.
