Green Impact is an environmental accreditation programme with an awards element, designed to encourage, support and celebrate departments in making environmental improvements. Interested staff volunteered to participate in the programme and received a toolkit outlining achievable environmental changes. Participating teams have either filled out online workbooks or carried out projects, such as improving the recycling rates in their building.
Depending on the number of environmental actions departments carry out, they can achieve either: a working towards accreditation, Bronze, Silver or Gold award. All departments participating in Green Impact will need an audit to verify their level of achievement… and this is where you come in!
We are looking for student volunteer auditors to visit the departments and conduct audits. During the morning you will be trained and in the afternoon you will carry out an audit of one or two teams. Lunch will be provided!
No technical knowledge is needed as full training will be provided. All you need is an interest in environmental issues. The course is IEMA approved so it is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills.
Please get in touch with Laura (Sustainable Development Engagement Officer) at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to get involved with Green Impact as an auditor, or if you have any further questions.
