NTU Maker Club
Green Woodworking and Knife Carving Taster Sessions
The Maker Club at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) offers staff and students the opportunity to be part a of creative community of learning and sharing, through practical craft-based activities.
Free to attend, the Maker Club delivers extracurricular workshops in an informal setting with support from staff and student mentors.

Practical hands-on experience of traditional woodworking tools will be offered within two parallel sessions:
Green Woodworking: this session will include use of pole lathes, shaving horses and associated tools and techniques; hosted by local craftsman and traditional chair maker Peter Wood.
Introduction to Knife Carving: this session will be hosted by Paul Adamson, a local spoon carver who will be offering attendees an introduction to knife carving and spatula making.

Sessions take place at the following times on both days:
- 9.30 am – 11 am
- 11.30 am – 1 pm
- 2 pm – 3.30 pm
These sessions are open to students and staff from across the University and are free to attend.

Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
