Play a Brass instrument? Join us for this free session with renowned trombonist, conductor and brass professor, Chris Houlding.

Play through Chris’ arrangements and learn new techniques in this exciting masterclass, open to NTU students and staff.

Chris is currently Head of Brass at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Professor of Trombone and Brass Ensemble at the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen, Germany, and has previously taught at Manchester’s Royal Northern College of Music.

Throughout his career Chris has performed with many major UK orchestras and ensembles. This includes the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra,  and London Brass. Chris still plays regularly with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, MusikFabrik, Superbrass, and The Symphonic Brass of London.

The NTU Brass Band will be performing some of Chris’ arrangements at the annual national university brass band competition, UniBrass, in February 2019.
