As part of the School of Science and Technology Chemistry and Forensic Science Colloquium Dr Louis Morrill, Cardiff University: A Tale of Two Projects: Cyanamide Chemistry and FLP Catalysis.

Abstract

In this presentation, two distinct research areas within our group will be presented. Part 1 - three new synthetic approaches to cyanamide containing molecules will be discussed, including mechanistic insights and product applications. This project was led in the lab by former NTU chemistry undergraduate student James Ayres. Part 2 - our contributions to frustrated Lewis pair catalysis will also be presented, covering both FLP-catalyzed (transfer) hydrogenation and sequential catalytic processes.

This seminar is hosted by Dr Warren Cross

All welcome.
