PRME Champions Project 2018-19 Carbon Literacy Training for Business Schools
The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a United Nations-supported initiative founded in 2007 as a platform to raise the profile of sustainability in schools around the world. The skills shortage concerning carbon literacy in business schools and universities is immense. This project suggests developing an existing and successful carbon literacy training plan further to address these challenges in management education.
The first stage of this project takes place on Friday 30 November at Nottingham Business School. This workshop will be of interest to Business School Senior Managers and Lecturers with an interest in Responsible Management Education.
- From: Friday 30 November 2018, 9 am
- To: Friday 30 November 2018, 5 pm
- Registration: 9 am
- Location: Nottingham Conference Centre, Newton Building, Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham, NG1 4FQ
- Booking deadline: Tuesday 20 November 2018, 8.00 am
This will be an interactive session for all to participate and we are delighted to welcome Richard Smith, a senior member of the BBC Sustainability team, to demystify climate change science, impacts and consequences.
The morning session of this event will provide an overview of the science and impacts of the project. In the afternoon attendees will split into specialist business disciplines in accounting, operations and senior leadership. Facilitators will support the co-creation of teaching materials to develop specialist teaching packages that can be tested and rolled out internationally in the longer term.
"This Carbon Literacy Training Workshop offers members of the UK & Ireland PRME Regional Chapter a wonderful opportunity not only to catch up with state-of-the art thinking, but to inspire us to find new ways of integrating the PRME agenda in to all areas of our campuses, both inside and out of the classroom."

Nottingham has plenty of Park and Ride services, a number of which are run alongside the city’s tram service - the parking provision is always generous, and you can expect a tram every ten minutes. We recommend using them, as parking in the centre can quickly become expensive. Visit the NET site for more information on the city’s Park and Ride services.
If you’re intending to park in the city centre, the closest (and largest) facilities to our City Campus are:
