Nottingham Trent University's Enabling Innovation programme and Nottingham City Council request your help in making Nottingham a Smart City! We are bringing together a community of smart and talented people to share technology and ideas to allow Nottingham residents and businesses to live and work smarter, and to make NTU a Smart Campus.
The City Council are actively working towards making Nottingham a city of the future and have published a strategy to guide this development. This strategy splits into 4 main areas:-
- Smart Energy
Generating clean energy to reduce fuel costs and to minimise environmental impact
- Smart Transport
Improving air quality by reducing congestion, accelerating the switch to low carbon transport modes, and promoting active travel
- Smart Homes
Building and retrofitting homes that are fit for the future while adopting innovative approaches that reduce ongoing maintenance costs
- Smart Health & Wellbeing
Promoting independence and healthy lifestyles to reduce health inequalities
We present this opportunity for you to discuss the issues that the City and the University face, and the work already underway. If you have ideas within any of the areas above or things you feel the city needs as part of the strategy, this is your chance to share them and make links for future collaboration. If you have a service/system which is suitable for Smart Cities projects, come along to connect with potential users. You will be able to discuss technical aspects with academic staff and identify funding opportunities.
