As part of the School of Science and Technology's Engineering and Materials Research Seminar Series, Dr Ian Whittaker, NTU presents: Flat Earth – Why do people believe?

Once again the Flat-Earth society has seen an uptake in believers in the last few years, fuelled by celebrity belief (including the UK’s own Freddie Flintoff…). This talk investigates just what they believe, how this information is propagated, and of course, some basic ways to refute the theory as well as discussing fake images.

This end of term talk is set at a public level and is meant to be entertaining, as well as educational, so it would be great to see attendance from students and staff of other departments as well – all are welcome (even believers)!

This seminar is hosted by Dr Ian Shuttlewoth
