As part of the School of Science and Technology's Engineering and Materials Research Seminar Series, Najlaa Almazrouei, NTU presents: Radiation Protection in Healthcare.
Abstract
Radiation and radioactive substances have many beneficial applications in different fields. For instance power generation, medicine, industry and agriculture. In healthcare, the radiation risks that may arise from these applications to workers, patients, public and the environment have to be assessed and controlled. For that, the primary aim of radiation protection is to provide an appropriate standard of protection without limiting the beneficial practices.
This seminar is hosted by Dr Ian Shuttleworth and Dr Rob Morris
