Abstract
Benzamides are readily accessible, cheap compounds and thus ideal candidates for use as highly-modular starting points for building-up molecular complexity. In our current research we have applied both one-pot sequential and cascade reactions to quickly and easily arrive at comparatively complex heterocyclic compounds using Cp*Co(III)-catalyzed C-H functionalization as the key tool. Whilst developing these protocols we have also become interested in some of the mechanistic intricacies which have arisen, and these will be highlighted in this presentation, alongside the synthetic results our research has achieved to date.
All welcome.
