As part of the School of Science and Technology Chemistry and Forensic Science Colloquium Dr Mike Edwards, Keele University presents: Unexpected pathways: from methodology to medicinal chemistry.
Abstract
In this talk I will present some of the research we have been involved in over the past 8 years and describe its unexpected evolution from the objective of creating new methods for tandem reactions and organoelement chemistry, through their deployment in the synthesis of medicinal analogues, to our current focus on projects targeting anti-parasitic, antioxidant and anti-cancer activity through small molecule heterocycles.
All welcome.
Hosted by Professor Steve Allin
