As part of the School of Science and Technology's Engineering and Materials Research Seminar Series, Dr Chris Hamlett, NTU presents: Beer control. The appliance of surface science.
Abstract
Aqueous foams can be either engineered or naturally occurring and have a wide range of applications from firefighting and mineral extraction to those that you wear or eat.
This talk will look at the applications of foams and the application of surface wettability control to produce antifoaming surfaces and how it can control beer heads. This work has potential to act as an alternative approach to more traditional antifoamers in certain applications.
