Founded in 2016 by seven international creatives, The Community is a Paris-based multidisciplinary art institute. Ignited by a long-standing need for shared space and a platform to stimulate ideas, The Community facilitates collaboration across different creative fields including – but not limited to – fashion, art, photography, music and publishing.
Extending their methodology to the UK, The Community Live in Nottingham invites members of the public and students from Nottingham Trent University to explore weekly themes via a range of workshops, seminars and activities alongside members of The Community and a specially invited group of internationally prominent artists and creatives. Each group will create new work within the space whilst reflecting and developing upon previous outcomes, building content through experience and accumulation.
The exhibition will culminate in a final viewing of the completed works on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 March. All are welcome.
The exhibition-as-process will be viewable throughout the period. However, due to the participatory nature of this project, it’s hard to predict the level of the experience. We therefore encourage you to follow updates via our social media channels before planning your visit and potential involvement.
