Open to NTU students and staff, this workshop will introduce you new approaches and techniques that will challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and bring a song to life.

From traditional and contemporary gospel to uplifting, emotive and classic songs, this workshop will introduce you new approaches and techniques that will challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and bring a song to life.

Who can attend?

This workshop is open to all NTU students and staff, with no previous gospel singing experience required to take part.

Spaces for this workshop are limited, so booking is essential.

About Freddie Kofi

Freddie Kofi is a MOBO Award nominee and British Academy of Songwriters Award winner. The Nottingham born artist has over 25 years’ experience in the music industry and was the first independent gospel music artist to receive The Prince’s Trust Enterprise Award. He has worked extensively in Nottinghamshire schools as a choir director since 1995, and in 2000 he was appointed Musical Director for the 1950’s James Baldwin musical, The Amen Corner; a Nottingham Playhouse / Tricycle Theatre production.

In 1997, Freddie founded Nottingham community choir Present Future Generation, one of highlights being a live performance in front of HRH The Queen at Westminster Abbey for Commonwealth Day in 2010. Freddie is currently Director of newly formed Bridge Community Gospel Choir and will be releasing new music in 2019.
