The Bromley House Library in Nottingham city centre is a hidden gem that harbours a remarkable piece of science heritage: A sundial that acts as a time signal to set your clock by. This simple but effective instrument originates from approximated 1834 but its method of alignment is unclear.
Kaine Bunting (NTU) explored different methods of its construction together with Dr Daniel Brown (NTU). Both will be giving a brief introduction to these amazing instruments. Then they present methods and their precision to shine some light on the heritage of this unique piece of Nottingham's heritage in their talk Lining up the Sun - The Bromley House Meridian Sundial.
