Event details
Everyone has different views on using games in the teaching and learning process; therefore, the purpose of the symposium is for colleagues to come together and discuss how to use these types of resources in their teaching.
Who should attend?
This event is pitched at the intersection of learning and play; the event will be of benefit for colleagues who are student-facing, teaching and support staff, curriculum managers and colleagues who want to consider different ways in which to increase student engagement within an active pedagogy.
Event format
The event will adopt a ‘Round Robin’ approach, visiting different tables where the presenter will explain how they use the game, tool or simulation in their teaching with some discussion on how students have reacted and any impact it has had. We want colleagues to come away from the event, thinking about how they might weave in these types of interventions into their teaching. Also, for colleagues who are in the process of gaining HEA Fellowship, the event would be useful to help you reflect on your professional practice.
