Global Week is a week-long celebration of Nottingham Trent University’s (NTU) rich cultural diversity, running from 24 - 28 February 2020.
Throughout the week, the staff and students of NTU, Confetti and Nottingham Trent International College (NTIC) alongside community partners from Nottingham and beyond will hold a series of stalls and events at our City, Clifton and Brackenhurst campuses. It will take place across Clifton Campus (Monday 24 – 25 Tuesday February), Brackenhurst Campus (Wednesday 26 February) and City Campus (Thursday 27 – Friday 28 February).
Through art, dancing, sport and food, Global Week connects and celebrates the different cultural heritages of the NTU community. It’s a chance for our staff and students to extend their international perspectives, and enjoy global experiences right here on campus.
This year we are working with the NTU Sustainable Development Team to support biodiversity and reduce plastic waste. NTU Global will donate £1 for every NTU, NTIC and Confetti student or colleague attending Global Week towards establishing a rooftop beehive and pollinator wildflower bed on campus. Read more here.
For the first time we will commission two current NTU students, to produce an artistic response to Global Week. Expect to see paintings with a difference focused on bee extinction and a large -scale origami zoo! Visitors will be encouraged to contribute to the artwork as it develops at Clifton Campus (Pavilion building) between 24 – 25 February and the City Campus (Newton Central Court) between 27 – 28 February. Read more here.
All the events and activities happening throughout the week are open to all NTU students and staff.
