Brand new for this season, our lunchtime recitals feature performances from NTU Music’s fabulous tutors. Experience music from the professionals who develop our students’ talents. We welcome vocal tutor Tim Lole and baritone Garry Magee.

Brand new for this season, our lunchtime recitals feature performances from NTU Music’s fabulous tutors. Experience music from the professionals who develop our students’ talents.
We welcome vocal tutor Tim Lole (piano) and singer Garry Magee (baritone) whose programme will feature music by Schubert and Erich Korngold.
Tim began his career working at the Royal Opera House, has been Chorus Master for RAI, and was staff conductor at Scottish Opera. He won the Donatella Flick Conducting Competition and has conducted for Welsh National Opera, the Royal Opera House Garden Venture, English Touring Opera, Birmingham Opera Company, and Musica nel Chiostro. He has also conducted the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Scottish National Opera. As a pianist and accompanist he has appeared at the Covent Garden Festival and the Buxton Festival, and given performances with many leading singers.
Garry Magee is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio. He has appeared with Opera North, English National Opera, De Nederlandse Opera, Danish National Opera, Komische Oper Berlin, and Welsh National Opera. An established concert artist, Garry has shared the stage with Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the Hallé, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. In recital he has appeared at Wigmore Hall, the Théâtre du Châtelet, and at the Stavanger Chamber Music Festival.

Situated on the University’s City Campus, University Hall is a short walk from Nottingham city centre. Due to our central location we don’t have visitor parking available, but public transport will bring you almost to our door.
