Our Teacher Apprenticeship Programme is a one-year, postgraduate, employment-based route into teaching, and is funded by the apprenticeship levy into which you pay (if your organisation is based in the UK and has an annual wage bill of over £3 million) – or largely by the government, if you don’t pay into the levy.

We know that colleagues have many questions regarding teacher apprenticeships, including:

  • What are my responsibilities as an employer?
  • How do I navigate the rules and regulations set out by the Institute of Apprentices, and by the Department for Education?
  • How is the apprenticeship funded?
  • How do I set up an apprenticeship place?
  • Does my institution need to already be working in partnership with the Nottingham Institute of Education?
  • How does an individual apply for an apprenticeship place?
  • What is the shape of the training programme, in school and at the university?
  • What support will I need to provide for my apprentice(s)?
  • What is an end point assessment, and how and when does it occur?

Bring your own questions and your ideas, as we would very much like to work with you to develop our provision and meet your needs.

Please drop an email to educationpartnerships@ntu.ac.uk if you cannot attend but would like to get in touch.
