Have you developed a new passion for gardening during lockdown? Are you interested in learning how to grow indoors more efficiently, to give you all year round crops with a bigger yield?

If so, this free online webinar is for you. We'll introduce you to the concept of hydroponics and vertical growing, in an easy to access format, delivered by Professor Chungui Lu, our leading scientific expert in this area of research.

The talk will cover:

  • an introduction to the concept of vertical farming and hydroponics
  • what the benefits are to growing this way at home
  • how you can create a basic, affordable system at home, for all year round results

Here at Nottingham Trent University, we currently run two vertical farms, capable of producing natural crops which are more nutritious, have far bigger yields and faster harvest cycles. Using a variety of innovative, automated feeding and environmental control systems, these farms create perfect growing conditions all year round. Vertical farming is considered a promising way that could offer sustainable and innovative solutions for improving our food security through technology.
